MAILBASE / Practical email marketing

An email marketing checklist before you send

Review content, images, links, mobile rendering and provider settings before sending.

Updated October 23, 2026

Content and offer

Check product names, variants, documented benefits, prices when used, deadlines and conditions. Review the subject and preheader for promises the email does not support. Without a verified offer, introduce the product without inventing a discount.

Images, typography and mobile

Read all text in the artwork, including small print. Compare packaging with official photos. Check crops, contrast, section order and button size in the mobile preview. Text baked into images requires particular attention to readability and alternative text.

Links and destinations

Test the primary link, clickable images and remaining buttons. Each should lead to the correct, accessible page and match the message. Review campaign parameters without putting personal data in URLs. Provide a text alternative where useful.

Sending through your provider

Import the HTML or assets into your platform, host images as required by its workflow and review sender, address and unsubscribe settings. Send tests to real inboxes and compare desktop and mobile. An editor preview is an initial check, not a substitute for testing the email clients your audience uses.
